City by the Sea

City by the sea is a cultural center set in a post-cultural apocalyptic future where most of society is monocultural. It is located near Point Nemo, the oceanic pole of inaccessibility and invites visitors to come and research or archive a culture. This project explores the themes of unity in multiculturalism. The city by the sea provides a way for individuals to learn and share or restore a culture back into their community. In the city by the sea, water is everything. People may only live in this city for a limited time, before they must move on like water that flows and passes through the city. They learn about cultures together, before they take what they’ve learned and share it with people outside of the city to keep a variety of cultures flowing through the world like water.
