hanxiao.zhou.heidi@gmail.comImperfectly includes a video and micrographs that encourage people to embrace their appearance and body by documenting and revealing the imperfections of pressed flowers under the microscope to make people aware that being distinct from social standards of beauty does not affect them as perfect individuals. Under a microscope, pressed flowers reveal more than just patterns and color. The inner workings of nature come through, revealing the structure of the flower, as well as its imperfections, both beautiful in their own right. One can’t help but reflect on oneself–as I do–often under our own pressure, we cultivate ourselves through confidence or lack thereof. We embrace these as we do our own. we continue to strive for something deeper as we continuously look inside, but who knows, maybe we are inherently perfect already. https://vimeo.com/789489114
